What is the future of the privately owned 146.700 repeater?
The repeater is owned by W4AB Steve Barber (now a silent key) and WB4LEQ Henry Mastrangelo and the Spencer family owns most of the equipment on the Dames Point Bridge and financed by N4UF Billy Williams. Billy N4UF stated that his job was/is to be the initial financer and the holder of the general fund in return for an interest-free, indefinite-term $3500 loan--which could be terminated by myself or NOFARS Board at any time upon which the loan would become due. The former loan was called in by Billy N4UF after an unpleasant incident on Oct. 26th 2024 that brought into question a future funding source for the repeaters. The loan is converted to a lien which Billy N4UF holds against the repeater assets--not against NOFARS. If Billy holds a lien against the repeater assets and Steve is now a silent key doses this mean that Henry WB4LEQ is now the sole owner of the repeater? What is the future for the repeater and who should we now be giving any donations to for the repeater upkeep?
